In 2016, together with the other primary schools in the Whitley Excellence Cluster, we have introduced the "Maths No Problem" teaching approach across the school. Sometimes known as "Singapore Maths" or "Maths Mastery", this is a highly effective approach to teaching maths, based on research and evidence. It builds students' mathematical fluency without the need for rote learning and supports pupils in learning to think mathematically, as opposed to reciting formulas they don't understand.
This year, as we have needed to supply resources for children learning at home, due to Covid19, we have also been using White Rose Maths to supplement our curriculum. This is another highly validated mastery approach to learning and comes with fantastic resources which are able to be shared remotely.
